1 killed, 1 wounded in Lawndale shooting

A 24-year-old man was killed and another man wounded during a street fight early this morning in the Lawndale neighborhood.
About 3:45 a.m., Chicago police responded to numerous calls about a fight involving 30 to 40 people in the 4200 block of West Cermak Road. When they arrived, police said they found the 24-year-old shot in the back and a 39-year-old man with a graze wound to his head.
The shooting victims were both taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where the 24-year-old, Darryl Brown, of the 2300 block of South Kolin Avenue, was pronounced dead.
No arrests had been made as Harrison Area detectives continued to investigate the homicide.
